Trip status as of Dec 11th:

Member charter trips are purchased from Tour Operators subject to third party regulations & government travel advisories that prescribe when insurance and refunds are issued. It would not be prudent for NTSC to mandate the cancellation of these services as it may negatively affect our members abilities to obtain all refunds that they would otherwise be eligible to receive should a trip not be able to run.

2020/21 lineup and registration

By registering for a trip, you agree to the trip waiver and travel code of conduct and are waiving certain legal rights. As a member, you also agree to follow the NTSC Code of Conduct and Waiver.

We highly recommend that you buy travel insurance, either through the tour operator or separately. If you choose not to purchase any travel insurance, there is no obligation from the Tour operator to provide refunds. Please protect yourself!

  • Costs are based on double occupancy and include the NTSC registration fee. Some trips offer accommodation options at different prices
  • We need at least 28 registrants to run a bus trip, and 15 for an air trip.

Covid-19 updates and practices

COVID-19 has resulted in uncertainty in the travel industry. Here are the actions we’re taking:

  • Increased supply of single rooms available
  • Secured option to add "Cancel for any reason" insurance from our Tour Operators (For both Bus and Air Trips). Cancel for Any Reason (CYAR) coverage is a “top up” to a policy purchased through SkiCan insurance provider Allianz. Cancel For Any Reason coverage must be purchased at the time of booking your trip (ie when paying your deposit to SkiCan).
  • All trip participants must follow the protocols in place by vendors, host Resort(s) and Local Public Health Authorities.
  • Air Trips: Ski-in/ski-out destinations selected to limit the time on buses
  • Bus Trips:
    • Limited to 28 participants (50% of bus capacity)
    • No food or drink. No on-bus washroom access (we will have more planned rest stops)
    • Assigned seating and masks mandatory
    • NEW: 3 trips will have drive up options available ?.
  • Roommates will not be assigned for the 2020/2021 season. The 2 options available:
    • We will allow members to sign up with a pre-arranged roommate. NTSC will then assign trip spots based on the order of priority list signup, with the exception of keeping pre-arranged roommates together.
    • If you do not have a roommate - we very much want you to join us but you will need to pay the single room supplement.

Resort COVID-19 updates

Resorts are advising that skiers and snowboarders will have to wear masks on lifts and gondolas and when indoors and physical distancing will be encouraged by removing tables and chairs in bars and restaurants. They are vowing more frequent cleaning and sanitizing. Please follow links below for the resorts latest information.

Travel Insurance

COVID-19 has brought uncertainties for our future travels. It is highly recommended for an NTSC member to purchase travel insurance, either through our Tour Operators or another 3rd party provider. We’d hate to see your hard-earned money go to waste if a trip is canceled or something unexpected comes up and you aren’t able to attend. Here we have summarized options provided by our Tour Operator and refund scenarios.

If you choose not to purchase any travel insurance, there is no obligation from the Tour operator to provide refunds. Please protect yourself!

insurance packages

The insurance premium is due with the deposit (flights) or full trip payment (bus). A package plan can be purchased through Skican (flights) or Express Tours (bus). Contract details provided upon registration. Call Allianz’s Customer Support to assist with specific questions: 1-800-379-9628. Mention you are booking a Skican holiday (Agency #2451).

Refunds and Cancellation

When you sign up for a charter trip as a member, you are buying from an independent Tour Operator (not NTSC), who is subject to third party regulations & government travel advisories that prescribe when insurance and refunds are issued. NTSC can not cancel trips as it may prevent members from obtaining refunds that they would otherwise be eligible to receive.

Deposit, insurance premium, and NTSC pre-registration payment are non-refundable. Refer to each trip event details for timelines and additional cancellation charges leading up to the trip.

REFUNDS

Depending on the situation for cancelation, as well as your personal insurance coverage purchased, refunds may or may not be reimbursed if a trip is interrupted or canceled. The Tour Operator will only cancel a trip under the following scenarios:

  • Level 3 or higher Canadian Government Travel Advisory
  • Local resorts/Air Canada closure

Government of Canada travel advisory can be summarized as the following:

  • Level 1 - Exercise normal security precautions
  • Level 2 - Exercise a high degree of caution
  • Level 3 - Avoid non-essential travel
  • Level 4 - No travel
