TRAVEL CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Member Travel trips are purchased from independent Tour Operators (not NTSC), and are subject to third party regulations and government travel advisories that prescribe when insurance and refunds are issued. NTSC can not cancel trips as it may prevent members from obtaining refunds that they would otherwise be eligible to receive.

Cancellation Terms: Skican

All payments, including deposits, fees and balance payment, are non-refundable. For NTSC, Skican may provide an exception to this policy in special circumstances, such as when the club substitutes another club member into your spot in the event you cancel. The chart below outlines the exceptions and fees, please review carefully.

NTSC and Skican strongly recommend that members purchase travel insurance before their departure or, if applicable, check their personal insurance coverage. Cancellation, interruption and medical insurance can be obtained directly through Skican.

The $55 to $75 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following table applies to payments made and due to Skican.

    + Name change fee for flights already ticketed in cancelling registrant's name

    + Insurance (if purchased)

    • Deposit and balance payment refunded once replacement member has made their full payment
    • IF a replacement member CANNOT be found

    + 100% of trip cost

    + Insurance (if purchased) 

    • If  insurance purchased, Skican will issue an official PDF receipt to file with insurance provider.

    From 5 business days prior to Departure Date to Departure Date:

    • No replacements permitted

    + 100% of trip cost

    + Insurance (if purchased)

    • If  insurance purchased, Skican will issue an official PDF receipt to file with insurance provider.

    Trip Participant Substitution Fee

    • From Final Payment Date to 6 business days prior to Departure Date if airline tickets have been issued
    • This fee covers finding a replacement Club member, including airline ticket changes

    Shared Room Cancellation Fee

    • From Deposit Payment Date to Final Payment Date
    • This Fee covers the cost of a single room for your roommate if we cannot find a replacement
    • Depending on the timing of the cancellation, you have a few options:
      • If you don't need  a refund because you have insurance to cover the trip cost, you can make an insurance claim
      • If you want a refund (less any non-refundable amounts), your former roommate can either pay the single supplement amount to cover your portion of the room cost OR your former roommate will be matched with the next member on the trip wait list of the same gender, assuming the trip has a waitlist.
      • If no member of the same gender can be found to share the room or your former roommate does not wish to pay the single supplement, then no refund will by provided to you by the tour operator.

        Review Skican confirmation email carefully for spelling accuracy

        • From 45 days to 6 business days prior to Departure Date
        • Name corrections required between 5 business days prior to Departure Date and the Departure Date are considered a trip cancellation.

         Refunds  
        In the event that Skican is unable to provide a travel service due to resort or hotel closure a refund and/or a credit for future travel will be provided representing the payment made for any unused portions of the trip, not including any non-refundable fees identified as separate of the trip package.

        2The Final Payment Date is when you pay the balance due to the tour operator (i.e. date the trip is fully paid)..


        CancelLation Terms: Express Tours 

        Trip participants may decide to cancel a trip after they have registered AND paid amounts to the Tour Operator. The earlier the member cancels, the lower the cancellation fees and penalties incurred.

        The $55/$75 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following applies to payments made and due to the Tour Operators.

        From 14 days prior to Departure Date to Departure Date:

                • CancelLation Terms: MERIT TRAVEL

                  The $55/$75 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following applies to payments made and due to the Tour Operators. 

                  1The Registration Date is the date that you complete the Trip Registration Form on the NTSC Website. It is not to be confused with the initial signup day when trips first go on sale.
                • If a cancellation is made, the cost of the single supplement will be payable for a double occupancy room, unless a substitute has been found.

                  Should there be a substitution, an administration fee of $90.00 plus tax will be deducted from individual’s refund who has cancelled.

                  From Final Payment Date to 14 days prior to Departure:

                  Cancellation

                  Balance & optional insurance are non-refundable. If the participant has insurance to cover the cancellation charges, it will not be necessary to find a replacement.

                  However, if a replacement must be found, the cancelled participant will receive a refund less $190.00 plus tax substitution fee.

                  Trip participants may decide to cancel a trip after they have registered AND paid amounts to the Tour Operator. The earlier the member cancels, the lower the cancellation fees and penalties incurred.

                  NTSC and Voyages Gendron strongly recommend trip participants purchase travel insurance before their departure or, if applicable, check their personal insurance coverage. Cancellation, interruption and medical insurance can be obtained directly through Voyages Gendron at the time the trip deposit payment is made. 

                  Additional Voyages Gendron Terms and Conditions.

                  The $35 to $95 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following applies to payments made and due to the Tour Operators.

                    Deviation from booked group airline flights

                    • Trip participants are responsible for making their own flight arrangements if the no flight option is selected. Passengers taking their own flights are responsible for expenses related to an itinerary change.


                    Trip price is subject to change if less than the minimum number of participants register. See "Spaces" section in each trip Sign-Up event for minimum number of trip participants for trip to proceed.

                    All rates are subject to change as a result of the following conditions: changes in airline fuel surcharges or any tax increase by travel partners (hotel, ground or air carriers, other). If the rate changes exceed 7% the club and members have the option of cancelling the contract / trip with no penalty.
