An important Message on our upcoming season from the NTSC Board

December 2020

Over the last 7 months, the NTSC Board has been working hard to bring together the coming season for you, our members.  This has involved almost daily meetings, reaching out to public and private resorts, bus companies, industry groups, and government agencies to try to understand how they are adjusting their protocols and thinking. We established a COVID committee to help coordinate our efforts and make decisions on best practices for our members to ensure a safe and, as much as possible, a fun season at the same time.

These discussions and meetings led us to the rather obvious decision not to operate as a club while Toronto is in a Grey protocol.  Recently  the board made the harder decision not to operate while Toronto is in the Provincial Government’s Red zone protocol. This will apply to Alpine and Nordic day trips, lessons, and in-person socials. As indicated in previous communications, charters are subject to other rules and regulations and will be exempt from this ruling.

If our city and the places where we ski were in a better situation, then NTSC believes that we have the protocols and procedures established – and with the appropriate flexibility in place to run a successful, albeit different, season. We hope that Toronto’s current health guided restrictions will produce the desired results and Alpine and Nordic trips are something that we are able to provide our members as the winter season commences.

NTSC takes the health of our city, family and friends and neighbours seriously and believe that this announcement is in the best interests of our volunteers, instructors and our members.

We wish that our news was better. We hoped that we would be able to launch our season in a timely fashion. The responsible thing for us to do right now however is wait. When we have the ability to do more, then we will be ready. Thank you to all of our members and for your encouragement, staying optimistic and staying with us as we try to find the right answers for the 2020/2021 season.

- NTSC Board of Directors

What's new?

  •   NTSC will not be operating any day trips, socials or activities while Toronto is within the Province of Ontario’s Grey (Lock Down) or Red (Control) zone. Charter trips are purchased from independent Tour Operators and are subject to third party regulations & government travel advisories.
  • New web site! Who dis? You'll find updated information on NTSC membership, our Alpine and Nordic trips and lessons, and Charter trips. We'll continue to make smaller updates over the next little while.
  • Socials will be starting online as of December 18.

When participating in NTSC functions this season you can expect the following changes due to COVID-19 safety protocols set by local health authorities:

  • Face Coverings (mask or face shield) will be required for many NTSC functions (buses, Alpine/Nordic lessons, resorts, some socials).
  • All NTSC members (and their guests) will be required to sign a COVID-19 health declaration prior to participation in any in-person functions.
  • NTSC members and their guests must follow ALL protocols in place by vendors, host Resort(s) and Local Public Health Authorities.

Failure to comply with these safety measures will be deemed reason to terminate your NTSC membership without a refund.

Downhill Ski & Snowboard

Nordic Ski

Safely explore the mountains, as long as COVID-19 doesn't throw any snowballs into our plans.

We've introduced new driveup options, smaller trips, more single rooms, and Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) insurance is available with trips to keep you safe. All trip participants must follow the protocols in place by vendors, host Resort(s) and Local Public Health Authorities.

Throughout the year, our winter community comes together at social events on and off the snow.

Usual events include a Season Launch Party, Christmas Party, Year-end bash, and regular socials throughout.

This year we've shifted to events that can held safely within COVID-19 guidelines.
