Explore a Vast Alpine Paradise!

Chamonix is situated in the French Alps, just north of Mont Blanc, and is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. With 5 ski resorts (Grands Montets, Les Houches, Le Tour/Balme, La Flegere and Le Brevent), Chamonix Mont-Blanc has nearly limitless terrain to satisfy any skier or boarder!

Not to be missed is the cable car ride up to the 3,842 m (12,605 ft) Aiguille du Midi. Constructed in 1955, it was then the highest cable car in the world and remains the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world!

Along with amazing skiing and boarding, the town of Chamonix is picture perfect! There's no shortage of places to go for a few drinks and some live music after a day on the mountain. Whether you prefer to soak up the late afternoon sun with a quiet glass of French wine or dance on the tables in your ski boots, beer in hand, Chamonix has plenty of great spots to kick back when the lifts shut for the day. Home to over 40 restaurants with an eclectic choice of food options, you will be spoiled for choice as you explore all that this charming mountain town has to offer!

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING OPTION

Try cross-country skiing for a magical way of exploring the snow-covered landscapes!  Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley boasts over 50 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks (for classic or skate-skiing), from Servoz to Vallorcine. You can rent your cross country ski equipment from one of the mountain equipment shops in Chamonix Valley. You can also find lessons and Cross Country Ski instructors at a Ski School.

Cross country skiers must select the "No Downhill Lift Ticket" option and purchase their cross-country trail pass directly from the resort. Trail passes can be purchased at the Nordic House of Chamonix (Domaine nordique de Chamonix), Route du Bouchet, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Adult day: 10 € / Adult week: 50 €.

Travel Insurance:

NTSC and the Tour Operator strongly recommend you purchase trip interruption insurance to protect against financial losses/penalties in the event you are forced to cancel or your trip is interrupted (e.g. flight cancellations or delays). Trip participants who do not purchase travel insurance will be required to confirm they have other coverage or understand they are responsible to any costs associated with trip cancellation/interruption.

NEW THIS SEASON. USA and Europe trip participants are required to provide proof of travel medical insurance coverage. In the past, participants who did not have out-of-country medical insurance have placed an undue burden on Trip Leaders and Travel Committee Reps. Injuries do occur and it is unsafe and can be very expensive to not have out-of-country coverage. Coverage is also recommended for out-of-province travel.

Comprehensive Insurance coverage can also be added to a newly purchased policy. The premium is due with the deposit.

Further details are available on the website Travel Insurance page.

By completing the online registration, you are agreeing to the NTSC Travel Code of Conduct and waiving certain legal rights against NTSC. Please carefully read the NTSC Travel Code of Conduct and the Travel Disclaimer.
