In the late 90’s I joined my children as they started ski lessons and learned some basics that got me down the hill, more or less. Ten years ago I was persuaded to join NTSC in order to go on a week-long trip to Park City, Utah. I had a really good time, on real hills and met my roommate – with whom I have now shared annual trips, mostly to Europe where the hills are even bigger! I also participated in the Wednesday lessons and spent all of those years in the same step level, until last year when, with a concerted effort and some private lessons, I finally broke out and graduated to the next level.
I’ve greatly enjoyed my time with NTSC, both on trips and Wednesdays. I’ve made many friends and through the lessons with the club learned how to improve my skiing, which added substantially to my enjoyment and confidence on the hills. I’ve taken advantage of all that the club has to offer and volunteered for the role of Secretary in order to give a little back.
