TRAVEL CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

Member Travel trips are purchased from independent Tour Operators (not NTSC), and are subject to third party regulations and government travel advisories that prescribe when insurance and refunds are issued. NTSC can not cancel trips as it may prevent members from obtaining refunds that they would otherwise be eligible to receive.


CancelLation Terms: merit travel

Trip participants may decide to cancel a trip after they have registered AND paid amounts to the Tour Operator. The earlier the member cancels, the lower the cancellation fees and penalties incurred.

NTSC and Merit Travel strongly recommend that customers take out travel insurance before their departure or, if applicable, check their personal insurance coverage. Cancellation, interruption and medical insurance can be obtained directly through Merit Travel. 

The $50 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following table applies to payments made and due to Merit Travel.

  • This Fee covers the cost of a single room for your former roommate. The Travel Committee does not guarantee that a suitable new roommate can be found to replace you if you cancel. Should a mutually agreeable NTSC member be identified to share a room with your former roommate, this fee will be waived.

Trip participant airline ticket name correction (i.e., spelling correction)

  • Name corrections required between 9 business days prior to Departure Date and the Departure Date are considered a trip cancellation.

Deviation from booked group airline flights

  • Trip participants who contact Merit Travel to arrange different flights (e.g., extending their stay) are subject to this charge.
  • Trip participants selecting the “No Airfare/Land Only” option and booking their own flights are not subject to this charge.
  • The number of flight deviations from the main group flights is limited.
  • Flight changes are permitted on the outbound or return date, but not both, provided that the outbound flight retains the same destination as the group.

 Refunds  
In the event that Merit Travel is unable to provide a travel service due to force majeure, the land portion of travel, minus an administration fee and credit card fees, will be refunded and a credit will be provided for airfare. $170 administration fee + credit card fees

Trip participants may decide to cancel a trip after they have registered AND paid amounts to the Tour Operator. The earlier the member cancels, the lower the cancellation fees and penalties incurred.

Note that as we are in an on-going pandemic with uncertainty related to travel NTSC and Skican strongly recommend the purchase of Cancel for Any Reason Travel Insurance, or other insurance products that provide protection for pandemic related cancellations. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations due to changes to vaccine requirements and/or travel advisories.

The $50 Registration Fee payable to NTSC upon an invitation to register for a trip is non-refundable. The following table applies to payments made and due to Skican.

 3% credit card fee included in trip price is non-refundable.  

Trip price is subject to change if less than 25 members register.

Skican reserves the right to adjust the package price in the event of unanticipated increases such as fuel or new departure taxes

 Refunds  
In the event that Skican is unable to provide a travel service due to resort or hotel closure a refund and/or a credit for future travel will be provided representing the payment made for any unused portions of the trip, not including any non-refundable fees identified as separate of the trip package.

Trip participants may decide to cancel a trip after they have registered AND paid amounts to the Tour Operator. The earlier the member cancels, the lower the cancellation fees and penalties incurred.

NTSC and Voyages Gendron strongly recommend trip participants purchase travel insurance before their departure or, if applicable, check their personal insurance coverage. Cancellation, interruption and medical insurance can be obtained directly through Voyages Gendron. Please note that COVID-19 prevention measures may be subject to change at any time without notice. Proof of vaccination may be required to access services (hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, tours, etc.). It is your responsibility to find out about the rules and guidelines applicable to your destination. Gendron Travel cannot be held responsible if you do not meet the requirements in place at the time of your stay. Gendron Travel is not responsible for any additional costs incurred. Costs related to entry and exit requirements of a country or province will have to be covered by the client, including COVID-19 testing.

All rates are subject to change as a result of the following conditions: changes in airline fuel surcharges or any tax increase in by travel partners (hotel, ground or air carriers, other). If the rate change exceeds 7%, the Club and members have the option of cancelling the contract/trip with no penalty
