    KAREN REICH

This will be my 7th year with the club and I'm so thankful for all the friendships and rewarding experiences from the club's many social events and charter trips. The club continuously challenges me with opportunities to improve my downhill skiing, to learn cross-country skiing, and to lead weekend trips.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to give back to the NTSC community – after all it has given me!

If there's a specific role for which you'd like to volunteer or just have questions on how to help out, please contact us. See you on the slopes!

    JOE GREENWOOD

I only skied twice before I moved to Canada from the UK. After my first week of winter, I quickly realized I need a way to have more fun in the winter. I was lucky enough to find North Toronto Ski Club - probably the single best thing I have done in Canada! (Well, second best after marrying my wife.)

This is my fourth year with the club and you’ll see me on as many of the Saturday day trips as possible, several weekend charters, and at least one weeklong (if I can). NTSC enabled my skiing to progress and I am lucky make great friends for life through the club. When not skiing, I can be found sailing on Lake Ontario, or out walking with my wife Sara, and may fostering a dog for adoption.

Charters provide a unique opportunity to explore new ski areas, challenge and extend our skiing and make new friends and memories.

    LAURA GARDINER

I was fortunate enough to grow up in BC where I spent all of my winters from the age of 3 on the snow and in the mountains … loving every minute of it. When I moved to Toronto in 2016, I didn’t know where to ski and missed my time on the hills immensely. Last year I discovered NTSC and it quickly became my community and gateway into Toronto. I really enjoyed getting out as much as possible and sharing my passion with a group of like-minded, fun and enthusiastic skiers / boarders that I am now happy to call my friends.

I enjoyed my experience with NTSC so much that I decided to jump in with both feet to plan the daytrips for 2017/2018. I want all members to enjoy this great sport and will work with the resorts, bus companies and our IT department to bring you the best experience possible for a travelling ski club. You should expect nothing less from NTSC!

If you see me on the bus, on the hill, at any of the socials, or just bump into me downtown, feel free to reach out! I’d love all suggestions regarding Day Trips and the Club!

Funny note about me: I love the rain, because when it’s raining in the mainland it usually means it’s snowing in the mountains!  I look forward to you sharing a funny thing about yourself with me!

(Editors Note: Laura was the winner of our Most Enthusiastic New Member in 2016/2017)

    NICK MILLER

This will be my 19th year with NTSC. Time flies when your having fun! And in my opinion, the most fun to be had is on a Charters trip. NTSC has been with me from my first tentative trips to Whistler to my adrenaline filled Heli and Cat skiing days.

A Charter trip is a great way to make new friends, challenge yourself, enjoy the mountains and party! If you see me at a social or instructing on a day trip be sure to ask me about our trips. Let me help find the best trip for you to start your Charters journey. If you want to be more involved with charters send me an email, we are looking for enthusiastic members to be Trip Leaders and Assistant Trip Leaders.

This is my fifth year with the club and first year on the Board.  I'm proud to be one of NTSC's growing group of snowboarders.  If you are interested in taking up snowboarding, improving your skills, or finding great people to ride with, NTSC offers it all.

As Director of Membership and Marketing, I want all active people in Toronto to know our club is the best for skiing, snowboarding, and nordic. After our clubs sells out (and it will), my goal is to keep members happy and engaged. If you are have any questions about sign-ups or communications, contact us.

    LISA SDAO

I joined the North Toronto Ski Club in 2011 based on the recommendation of a friend and I'm so glad that I did! In the last four seasons my skiing has improved tremendously by participating in weekly Ski School lessons.  These lessons gave me the confidence to travel and ski great places such as Vermont, Quebec, Utah, France and Lake Placid. I've also made wonderful new friends and have found a way to truly enjoy the Winter months by skiing every Saturday and taking advantage of the many trips the club has to offer.  I have a new found love for winter in Canada. This is my second year on the Board of Directors and I'm happy to give back my time as a volunteer to a great club!

    STUART TEATHER

Traveling up to a hill with a bunch of strangers or going on trips with people you don’t know isn’t much fun.  You could join a ski club for a number of reasons, but the desire to experience skiing or boarding with friends is usually top of the list.  People want to ski, party, and travel with people that they know.  Does this sound like you?

North Toronto Ski Club has a well-earned reputation as club for people to meet members who then become friends. They become part of an active community of like-minded people that make the most of Canadian winters … both on and off of the slopes.

My job as social director, is to provide opportunities for members to get together for fun, and that is exactly what we will do in 2016/2017.  Toronto is a big place with lots to do.  Make the most out of the opportunity that NTSC provides to you both on and off of the slopes and join us!

Note from Membership Chair on Stuart’s Modesty: Stuart is a 3 time winner of the Most Contributing Male (Doug Ferrier Award), former Marketing and Membership Director and perennial chairperson for NTSC during his 13+ years with the club.

    KERRY LANGSTAFF

I'm originally from the UK where skiing meant organizing a weeklong trip to Europe so having the flexibility to go skiing just for the day is a real novelty. Winter would feel much longer and would definitely not be as much fun if I hadn’t joined the ski club. Through the bus trips, ski lessons and weekends away I've made a great set of friends I now see all year round.

Having helped as trip leader and on the treasurer and Social chairs in the past two years I've come to realize how valuable volunteers are to the running of the club. I'm looking forward to being on the board this year and being able to get more involved.

    GEOFF TEMPLE

I began skiing as a child and on my first time out I borrowed a of skies with non-releasing bindings (yes, they did exist).  I survived the experience and eventually found started skiing only once every 3 to 4 years.  All that changed when my wife Lisa and I joined the NTSC 5 years ago when looking to reinvigorate our passion for the sport.  NTSC did just that. Aside from day trips, I attend at least one weekend charter and one week long charter each year to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the fantastic company of other NTSCers.

My background is I.T. so Director of Operations and I.T. is a great way I can help our club.

There is no better place to cross country ski then in Ontario’s near north.

I stated skiing in Muskoka when I received my first Nordic skis at age 7.  Now, approximately 20 years later, I’m tremendously grateful that I am still able to enjoy this sport.  I joined NTSC 10 years ago, shortly after moving to Toronto.  NTSC for me is the perfect combination of social and recreation.  I am looking forward to skiing with you in 2018!  See you on the trail or in the chalet at the end of the day.

We live in and around the city and love to ski and snowboard! Established in 1960, North Toronto Ski Club is a traveling downhill/alpine, cross-country and snowboard club run by member volunteers. Our club is small enough to be open and friendly but big enough to provide all the benefits of a large ski club of 1,100 members.
